今天来学习英语的句子，它分为三类：简单句(Simple Sentence)、并列句(Compound Sentence)和复合句(Complex Sentence)。

再来看一个例子：Jake rode his bike, but Matt walked.

由连词but连接两个句子。

前面的句子是Jake rode his bike；后面的句子是 Matt walked。

Matt ate pancakes, and he ate bacon.

由连词and连接两个句子。

前面的句子是Matt ate pancakes；后面的句子是 he ate bacon。

并列句练习将图中的两个简单句变为一个并列句。

可以看出，这两个相同的地方是I like，后面的两个词都是食物，所以我们可以把两句话变为：I like pizza and spaghetti.

但这句话不是并列句，但还是简单句。

要变为并列句，应该是有两个句子，即I like pizza and I like spaghetti.

由连词and连接两个句子。

注意：连接并列句的连词包括and, but, for, nor, or, so, yet等。

Despite the fact that your parrot talks,it cannot sing.

（由despite连接两个句子）不管你的鹦鹉能说话这个事实，它不能唱歌。

练习：下面句子属于什么句子，简单句、并列句还是复合句？

Since I won't be able to attend the party, I'll just send my gift with you.

I want my friend to sleep over, but my family has other plans.

中有从属连词since，所以它是复合句complex。

第2个句子I want my friend to sleep over, but my family has other plans.

中有并列连词but，所以它是并列句compound。
